Rates of prostate cancer are on the rise, while most other cancers are actually on the decline. But there’s new evidence about omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E that can dramatically reduce the risk.
The results of a study published in the Journal of Clinical Cancer Research show that a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids slows tumor growth by 22 percent and lowers prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels by 77 percent. And though we’ve known for years that vitamin E can help prevent heart disease, new findings indicate that it can also help prevent prostate cancer. Finnish researchers monitored over 29,000 men who took either vitamin E or a placebo daily for up to eight years.
Dramticaly Lowers Prostate Cancer
The men taking the vitamin E had a 32 percent lower rate of prostate cancer. They also had 41 percent fewer deaths from prostate cancer.
These days, taking fish oil is simple and easy. It doesn’t have the fishy taste it had years ago. Many brands have a clean lemon-lime flavor. For best results, start with 5 grams a day (about one teaspoon). If the oil isn’t for you, you can substitute capsules. I usually recommend three capsules with breakfast and three with dinner.
As for vitamin E, the very best forms come straight from Mother Nature - in nuts, nut oils, seeds, apples, beef, seafood, avocados, and spinach.

While nutrition is a very important factor in preventing prostate cancer, simple exercise has been shown to reduce the risk by almost 30% according to research at the UCLA’s Jonsson Cancer Center and UCLA’s Department of Physiological Science.
Exercising for as little as 15 to 30 minutes four to five days a week, and once or twice a week at a slower pace for 40 to 60 minutes is enough to dramticaly impact your health.
So what are you waiting for… get going… and live longer!
