Not Building Enough Muscle? Then Discover How To Quickly Avoid Dangerous Training Plateaus.
By admin | March 19, 2008
Avoid Training Plateaus With These Easy To Follow Tips!
Here are a few easy to follow tips to help you blow through any training plateau!
Follow The Revised Bully Xtreme Training Program:
The training program is designed to change your workout every 4 weeks, thus utilizing the principle of “muscle confusion”
Why?
The human body is a great machine, the key to our survival as a species is our ability to adapt. (Sheesh can you believe that??) The body quickly adapts to physical stress. That’s why it’s important to strive to increase the amount of effort you use each time you workout.
Track it with your training logs and the Bully Power Meter reading. Bully Xtreme Training Program
Hit the Muscle from A Different Angle:
I remember my first grappling class. Man, was I sore the next day! Why? Even thou the muscles were well trained they were being used in a new way, a way that they weren’t used before. I’m sure you have heard the term muscle memory, right?
Well the muscles “learn” how to do an exercise movement. They respond by growing but once that “pattern” has been stored in your “muscle memory” the body begins to plateau.
Rest, Are you sleeping enough?:
In time of war one of the best techniques of “mind control” is sleep deprivation. When you don’t sleep enough you get cranky, right? Well your muscles get cranky too and they decide not to grow.
Proper Nutrition:
Are you taking in the proper amount of protein to allow your body to feed the muscle? Are you doing a pre-training protein meal or drink? Are you having (30 minutes after your strength training workout only) a post-training, carb and protein meal or drink? These are critical factors to muscle growth.
Eccentric training:
Are you using eccentric training, a scientifically proven method that will yield the largest strength and muscle gains as part of your training program?
Not sure of what eccentric training is?
I will talk more about this important muscle building
principle soon, so keep checking back.

Goals? Do You Make These fatal Mistakes In Setting And Achieving Your Goals?
By admin | March 16, 2008
Hello Friends,
If you are not making the progress you are capable of and would
like to make, it is because your goals are not clearly defined.
These words were first spoken by Paul J Meyer.
I wrote these words down on a 3×5 card and have had them on my
bathroom mirror for over 20 years. (I had to create new cards as
they weathered, now I have laminated them.)
Why??
Because I truly believe that Goal Setting is the first step
in any muscle building, weight gaining or fat loss program.
But there is a question that begs to be answered…
If goal setting is the first step or the “secret” as many have
(including myself) said to succeeding in life then why are not
all people that know about goal setting successful?
Anthony Robbins has pointed out that what stops most people from
accomplishing all they want is FEAR!!
Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of rejection…
But wait, I want to have a 6 pack stomach, I want my arms to be big
and strong. I want to be proud to take my shirt off at the pool or
beach!!
I don’t fear success. I don’t fear failing…why then don’t I
accomplish all my goals??
Well go to this article to find my “toolbox” for success!
In it you will find the tools you need to achieve your fitness goals
as well as life goals.
Don’t procrastinate, don’t hesitate, and don’t fear it!
Yours in health and strength,
–Frank Sherrill
PS Have you been putting off achieving your fitness goals??
Isn’t about time you put all the excuses away and tried the
Bully Xtreme Home gym??

your success.

Build Muscle- The “Secret” To Fast Muscle Building
By admin | March 5, 2008

Is There A “Secret” To Fast Muscle Building?
According to the latest scientific research there is and in this article let’s discuss one of these “secrets”
Whey is a natural source of protein that is extracted during the process of turning milk into cheese and actually makes up about 20% of the protein content of cow’s milk.
Whey is a combination of different proteins that each have their own unique properties, such as lactoferrin, beta-lactoglobulin and alpha lactalbumin.
Discover What Every Bodybuilder Knows
Every bodybuilder understands the importance of proper protein intake. Intense training in the gym breaks down the muscle tissue, and proper nutrition (including protein intake) repairs and remodels the tissue larger and stronger.
Whey is said to be the highest quality source of protein you can find, containing very easily digestable amino acids. Since protein is what muscle tissue is made of, this has obvious positive implications for muscle recovery and growth.
Whey is also said to be the ideal post-workout protein source, since it can be rapidly digested and absorbed when the muscles need it most.
Whey has also been demonstrated to posses a whole host of general health benefits such as:
- Increasing immune health
- Lowering cortisol levels
- Reducing stress
- Lowering blood pressure
- Battling HIV and cancer
- Increasing seratonin levels
(For the purposes of this review we won’t be analyzing whey’s benefits as a general health supplement, but rather as it relates directly to a muscle-building program.)
All in all, I don’t really consider whey to be a “supplement” at all. Whey is a completely natural source of protein found in the foods we eat, and already makes up 20% of the content of milk.
More than anything, whey is simply a food source, and a very high quality one at that.
Most bodybuilders are consuming around 5-8 meals daily, and taking in protein levels of roughly 1-2 grams per pound of bodyweight. Whey should be included as part of this diet not only for its incredible convenience (it’s far easier to drink a simple protein shake than it is to eat a chicken breast or a steak) but also for its incredible high quality and absorption rate.
It is rated highest on the Biological Value scale because it has the highest “bio-availability” of any protein out there, meaning your body will absorb the greatest amount.
Whey is a “complete protein”,
Meaning that it contains all of the essential amino acids. Essential amino acids are those that cannot be manufactured by the body and therefore need to be brought in from an outside source. Whey protein has all of them.
Not only that, but whey is also naturally high in BCAA’s (branched chain amino acids). BCAA’s are the amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine, and they have been shown to be a very effective anti-catabolic agent. When your body breaks down muscle tissue for energy during intense exercise, it is the branched chain amino acids that will be called on first. By consuming a larger amount of BCAA’s you can prevent your body from catabolizing muscle tissue when you workout.
Whey is also a very versatile form of protein.
Depending on the specific time of day, you can tailor whey protein to absorb at different rates. For example, during the post workout period your body needs the quickest and fastest-absorbing form of protein it can get. Whey protein mixed in water is ideal for this situation as it can be digested in just minutes.
At other times in the day it is more beneficial to consume slower-releasing forms of protein as these will digested gradually and will keep the body in an anabolic state for longer periods of time. By simply mixing your whey protein with milk you can slow down the absorption rate significantly.
The two main types of whey protein that you’ll come across are whey protein isolate and whey protein concentrate depending on the method that is used to extract the protein.
Whey concentrates are the “original” form of whey protein.
They contain a lower percentage of protein per scoop as compared to isolates and are also generally higher in lactose and fat. In addition, they contain a higher percentage of denatured proteins (proteins that have had their structure altered and therefore lose their biological activity). One other drawback to concentrates is that, for the most part, they tend to form “chunks” and are more difficult to mix up.
Isolates on the other hand have higher percentages of protein per scoop, significantly lower fat/lactose levels and extremely low levels of denatured proteins. In addition, most whey isolates are made up of the more valuable subfractions of whey protein (remember, whey protein is a mixture of many different types of protein with varying properties and benefits) as compared to concentrates. They also tend to mix much more smoothly and also taste better.
All in all, both whey isolate and whey concentrate are high quality forms of protein overall, so you’ll still see achieve great benefits using either of them. I honestly do not believe that making the choice between an isolate or concentrate is going to form any measurable difference in your bottom line muscle gains.
Whey Protein- The Number One Supplement
If there is one supplement out there that I would recommend, whey protein would be it.
While the simple addition of whey protein itself is not going to allow you to pack on an extra 10 pounds of muscle in a 2 week period, over the long haul it will make your eating plan much more convenient and will help you make sure that your protein requirements are met every single day.
Whey comes in handy in a wide variety of situations, and is a high quality source of protein that should be included in any serious bodybuilder’s diet.

Tito’s Dirty Little Secret To Kick Butt
If you’re a fan of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), then chances are you’ve been following the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Tito Ortiz, who recently demolished Ken Shamrock, has come back on the fighting scene with a hard as a rock style of conditioning never seen before in the Octagon!
While many so called “champions” walk into the Octagon tough, they later blame their conditioning. In the fight against Matt Hughes it was evident that BJ Penn was not in shape. This one factor has cost many good fighters their titles recently.
Tito recently revealed his secret on the Ultimate Fighting show on Spike T.V.

Best Muscle Building Supplement
By admin | February 4, 2008
Many people, including some “experts”, define the best bodybuilding supplement as the one that helps build muscles the quickest. Is this a proper definition? And even if it is, how do you single out one supplement to stand above the rest?
Must Be Natural
To begin with, let us add a qualifier to our term. In my opinion the best bodybuilding supplement has got to be a natural substance. If it is not natural, it should not be part of anyone’s program. I just don’t want something from a chemical lab going into my body. I don’t care how many competitors, sports figures or marketing gurus say they wont harm you. Don’t use them.
Okay. So what is the best “natural” bodybuilding supplement? With so many different types and brands that you can use to enhance your results, picking the best one can get a little confusing.
The majority of expert bodybuilders agree that the most effective body building supplement is protein. Protein is needed to get all of the muscle building enzymes to where they need to be. It also boosts your energy level and enables you to do more intense workouts.
Is Protein The Best?
Whey protein ranks right up at the top of bodybuilding supplements. It is a great protein source to add to your workout program. It is all natural and provides good results when taken in the right amounts at the correct times.
Muscle And Energy Booster
Creatine is another good natural body building supplement. It also boosts your energy level and helps combat fatigue to permit better, more effective workouts. Creatine is naturally produced in your body and taking a creatine supplement is encouraged for the best results in a natural body building routine.
A Max Muscle Enhancer
Glutamine is another natural body building supplement that is used to get the maximum results from muscle building workouts. It works by bringing muscle building nutrients to the muscles to increase their mass and improve toning.
Protein, creatine and glutamine are natural substances and recommended supplements by many expert bodybuilders. There are several others that are questionable as supplements even though they may be naturally produced in the body.
The Daddy Of All Muscle Building Supplements
The most talked about is testosterone. There is little doubt that testosterone builds muscle mass. There is much doubt, however as to its safety and how long the muscle mass stays viable. Then there are the side-effects to consider. If you work your body with intensity, it will naturally produce all of the testosterone that it needs to build muscle. So stay natural and safe and avoid synthetic testosterone and other hormones.
Notables and New
Another bodybuilding supplement that is gaining in popularity is nitric oxide. During an intense body building workout your body produces nitric oxide to help combat stress. Nitric oxide does this by dilating your vessels so they carry more blood and nutrients to where they are needed. This is what gives you the “pumped” feeling after a workout.
It will also give you the “pumped” feeling without the workout so many people are taking it as a supplement to get pumped without the workout. My recommendation? Avoid it and any other questionable supplement and build your muscles naturally. You’ll feel better and have a much longer, healthier life.
How To Choose Wisely
Picking the best bodybuilding supplement for your personal program has got to be your own personal decision. And it takes some research. Beware of all the claims in the muscle magazines. Most are owned supplement companies trying to sell you instant success. There is no such thing without work. A lot of hard work.

Isometric Exercise

Isometric Exercise
There are always going to be times when we’re on the road for a day or three, and we are going to miss workouts. You forgot to take your Bully Xtreme 2 with you. But there is one way to hit body parts and maintain some muscle tone: isometric training.
Employing isometric training - using manual resistance to tax your muscle groups - is a good way to bring nitrogen-rich blood into the muscle groups in order to maintain some level of muscle mass when no heavy weights are available. Here are some movements that work each major muscle group, using only the tools available in most hotel rooms.
- Chest Pushups: (flat, incline, and decline with feet on a bed), most muscular poses, and extended chest stretching on door jams.
- Shoulders: Lateral side towel raises & overhead presses with any compact items you can locate which are easy to balance.
- Triceps: Bodyweight dips from bed/couch & towel resistance kickbacks.
- Thighs: Bodyweight squats and lunges.
- Hamstrings: Lying hamstring towel curls (requiring a partner) or super-slow stiff-legged toe touches.
- Calves: Standing calf raises on stairs or ledge.
- Back: Shrugs with couch or other balanced heavy object for traps, and towel resistance pulls for lat training.
- Biceps: Mirror flexing & standing towel resistance curls.
- Forearms: Forward & reverse wrist curls using towel or small heavy objects.
Training Schedule
- If you’ll be on the road for one day - enjoy the rest, or do one set of all exercises.
- If you’ll be on the road for two days, employ a push/pull split (Day 1 is chest, shoulders, triceps calves, and thighs, while Day 2 is hamstrings, back, biceps, and forearms.)
- If you’ll be on the road for three days, use the following split; (Day 1- chest/shoulders/triceps, Day 2- thighs, hamstrings, calves, and Day 3- back, biceps, forearms.)
So don’t use the excuse of leaving your Bully Xtreme at home… at least get a workout in… by the way this workout shouldn’t take more then 7 to 10 minutes MAX!

Bullworker Patent- The Truth… Hooray It’s Expired!
By admin | August 15, 2007
Dear Reader,
I have noticed in some B.S. Bullworker forum (it’s owned, run and managed by the new owners of Bullworker Europe… real unbiased… huh?) that is just constantly “Bully Bashing” … they make the unsupported claim that the Bullworker patent is still in effect.
So I am going to lay to rest this bit of propaganda right now!
According to the U.S and U.K. patent office. Patents are only valid for a period of 20 years and I quote…
“A patent gives an inventor the right to exclude all others from making, using, importing, selling or offering to sell the invention for up to 20 years without the inventor’s permission. This gives the inventor the opportunity to produce and market the invention himself, or license others to do so, and to make a profit”
What about in the UK…
“In the UK the legal rights last for a maximum term of 20 years from the date of filing of the patent application at the Patent Office. The patent has to be maintained by payment of renewal fees. Once the 20 year term has expired or the patent has lapsed through non-payment of renewal fees, the invention can be worked by anyone as long as there are no other intellectual property rights associated with the invention.”
Pretty clear to me… how about you? Well the only question that comes to mind then… “when was the Bullworker and the Bullworker X5 patented?”
Lets google that.
The first Bullworker model was patented in 1968 but the latest one was patented in 1981.
Oh here it is… United States Patent D262129
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/D262129.html
Inventors:
Kolbel, Gert F. (Hanover, DE, US)
Geisselbrecht, Werner (Meitze, DE, US)
Application Number:
023500
Filing Date:
03/23/1979
Publication Date:
12/01/1981
Hmmm… seems that 20 years would be 12/01/2001.. pretty much expired to me.
This is one of the things that always gets me about people voicing their opinion on the internet … without facts to back them up. In the Army we had a term for people like that “they are full of shxt” Well you know what I mean.
I will post a copy of that patent in my next rant.
Good training!

The concept is that these two athletic dudes (one an MMA fighter, the other a former football player and wrestler) travel all over the world to train with, and then test out various cultures’ martial arts.
While only two episodes have aired as of this writing, the show already has proven itself to be a very revealing diagnostic tool to those who are able to look beyond the romanticism and isolate the truth.

Doctors Discover Amazing Prostate Protection From Mother Nature
By admin | July 31, 2007
By Al Sears, MD
Rates of prostate cancer are on the rise, while most other cancers are actually on the decline. But there’s new evidence about omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E that can dramatically reduce the risk.
The results of a study published in the Journal of Clinical Cancer Research show that a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids slows tumor growth by 22 percent and lowers prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels by 77 percent. And though we’ve known for years that vitamin E can help prevent heart disease, new findings indicate that it can also help prevent prostate cancer. Finnish researchers monitored over 29,000 men who took either vitamin E or a placebo daily for up to eight years.

Secrets Of Life Long Health
By admin | July 29, 2007
Almost 2 years ago, the three examining physicians at the head office of the Life Extension Institute made a thorough physical examination of this writer. They had him hop and jump and a do bakers dozen of things to stir his heart into action, then they listened with their tethoscopes and nodded knowingly to each other, finally gathering in a corner to whisper earnestly together, with many a meaning glance in the writer’s direction. The upshot of their conference was a solemn warning against all forms of violent exercise. The heart was dangerously affected, in their opinion. Tennis, golf, swimming — all these were taboo. Even running for a train was likely to result in a medical disaster.
If the writer wanted excitement, he might walk (as long as he did it slowly) or crawl about the floor on all fours! (I’m not kidding)
That was 2 years ago, remember?
A few months back, he had occasion to be examined for life insurance. The examining physician knew of the Life Extension Institute findings, so he asked the Head Examiner of his company to check his report. The Head Examiner came, made the same exhaustive heart tests as the Institute and put away his instruments with a chuckle.
“When you get ready to pass out,” he said, “they’ll have to take out that heart and hit it with a rock to make it stop beating. Work, play, do anything you like in reason. The heart can stand anything you can!”
What made the difference? What changed? Perhaps the following lesson may give you an indication…

Bullworker: Fake Or Muscle Builder

Back in the late 1960’s a German inventor named Gert F Koelbel, or Gert Kobel (I have seen many different spellings of his name) invented an exercise device called the Tensolator, later on it was renamed the Bullworker. The device was revolutionary in that it allowed you to use it, the Bullworker like a set of cables and at the same time you could compress it like an accordion… all in one device.
The results were mind blowing for it’s time, after all this was “pre-ARNOLD” and of course Steroids!

Bully Extreme- Brother Can You Spare A Dime?
By admin | July 28, 2007
Do you like mystery’s or conspiracy theories? Well here’s a REAL doozie for ya!
John Feigenbaum didn’t sleep at all during his red-eye flight across the country. He’s not a nervous flier — it was just that in order to get through security he had put the dime in his pocket and as he strapped himself into his seat he feared it would fall out.
So he promptly opened his briefcase and placed it inside. He sort of sighed as he did it, but he wouldn’t feel totally comfortable until he got to his destination. What’s so important about this dime you ask? Is it a new weapon of mass destruction we haven’t heard about?
No no…It’s just that the dime he was carrying is worth… $1.9 Million Dollars!
